Assigning an event reporter

Give a team member the Event Reporter role so they can report live events for your team's games.

As a Team Admin you can share the reporting workload by assigning the Event Reporter role to a coach, parent, or any other team member. This guide shows you how.

Getting started

You need to be a Team Admin to assign roles.

An event reporter can start the game clock and report goals, cards, substitutions, and other match events live in NorCal — for every game your team plays.

Anyone with an active account can be made an event reporter — they don't need any other admin permissions.

Open the Roles page

1. Open your team page

Sign in to NorCal and go to your team's page.

2. Tap the Admin button

This opens the admin pages for your team.

3. Choose Roles in the side menu

The Roles page lists everyone who currently has a role for your team.

4. Tap Add role

The Add role button in the top-right corner opens the dialog where you pick a member and a role.

Choose a member

You can pick the new event reporter in two ways:

  • From the team
The quickest way — pick a player, staff member, or guardian directly from the team lists. Only people with active accounts are shown.
  • Search by phone number or email
If the person is not in the team lists, search for their account by mobile number (or email in some regions) and tap Search.

Assign the role

1. Select the Event Reporter role

Check that the details shown belong to the right person, then pick Event Reporter in the role list.

2. Tap Assign role

The new reporter appears in the roles list right away and can start reporting immediately.

What's next?

The new event reporter is ready to go. From here they can:

  • Report match events
Start the game clock and report goals, cards, and substitutions from the game view — see the Goal & Event Reporting guides.
  • Be changed or removed at any time
Use the action menu next to a person in the roles list to change or remove their role.
